During a bad case of measles at age 3, Martha Curtis started experiencing epileptic seizures. Within a year, she began playing piano and then violin at age 9. The violin training propelled her spirit through the Interlochen Arts Academy, the Eastman School of Music, and into professional orchestras.

She intermittently seized on stage, and noticed that when she returned, she could pick up her violin and finish the piece. She learned that consciousness delivers the power of the self.
